Getting Started
You've now finished reading about your warranty coverage and you are ready to take advantage of the comfort and security of your new home. However, there are a few more things you can do to better protect the warranty package.
Step 1
Place the enclosed decal on your electrical panel.
Step 2
Ensure that you have been transferred all manufacturer's warranties and operating manuals from your Builder. Manufacturers of items such as roofing, windows and appliances often offer their own warranties, which provide you with added protection.
Step 3
Be sure to place the package in a safe place for future reference.
Step 4
Make a note of all time-sensitive deadlines for addressing warranty items. Remember that first-year defects must be reported in writing within the first 12 months of possession of the home.
